Hi Everyone. Today was an amazing day! It was worth a MILLION Dollars to see Jordan having so much fun. As soon as we arrived in NH at the farm we got out and loaded Jordan in a all terrain vehicle with a bench seat and seatbelts. She was wearing her snow pants, boots, winter coat, gloves and a hat. Patti, Jordan and I all rode to the top of the hill up to the horse paddock where Kachina, Nita, Promise and Buster were. Cherokee was down below behind the barn. We unloaded Jordan out into the snow and stood her up against the fence and the most wonderful thing happened immediately. Kachina walked over to the fence and gave Jordan a kiss. I don't think there was a dry eye or not a big lump in the throat to see that moment happen. After standing a few minutes Jordan asked to go into the paddock with the horses. Jimmy and Shawn put her over the fence and YES you all know what happens next.....Jordan was put up on Kachina bareback and she went for a ride!! She asked Patti to make her trot but we told her we cannot do that yet. She had a grin from ear to ear. We then brought all the horses down to the barn and Jordan spent time giving Kachina treats and brushing her. (I have a lot of pictures!!) We all got cold and went inside for some rest. Jordan rode 4 different times today. Bareback and in a Western saddle. The doctors and nurses will freak out we put her on a horse. I also think that they knew we were going to do it. It is worth all the punishment we will get. LOL. We didn't get back until late tonight and we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow so we tried to get her to sleep earlier.
Now I have to tell you some news we received this past week. It is sad and good all in the same feeling. Tuesday we learned that the Team wants Jordan to go down to Boston for continuation of her rehabilitation. We all decided we wanted to look into this however we didn't think it would progress so fast. On Thursday evening we learned that Jordan was accepted at Spaulding Rehabilitation and there are seven more on the waiting list waiting to get in. They have a bed available on Monday and I think we have convinced them to wait until Tuesday. This has all happened way to fast and is very overwhelming. We have not told Jordan yet and we are doing so tomorrow (Sunday). It is going to be very difficult for all of us. We have grown very attached to everyone in her Unit and they have grown attached to us as well. There have been lots of tears shed these last couple of days. Poor Jordan does not understand why. They have planned a "graduation" party for her for tomorrow when we all sit down with her and discuss this in a positive manner. It means that they have done everything they can for Jordan here in Maine and since she is doing so well they want to do MORE aggresive rehab to see how far she can come. She has already come such a long way in such a short time. We don't know if we are leaving Monday or Tuesday but Jordan and I will be going down to live in Boston for 60 days. I am hoping to be able to take her to the Aquarium and Museum on "day passes" just like we do here in Portland. The only problem is she may not be coming home on Christmas Day ~ that doesn't mean she will not have Christmas. We will celebrate know matter where we are. We already have everything we want for Christmas anyway!
So this blog will be very important these next couple of months because it will be our lifeline to all of you. Maybe some of you will be able to come down to visit us!?!
Jordan will be sad but I think in the long run she will be happy we did this. We want to make sure we do everything possible for her to get better and this is another journey we need to take whether we want to or not.
We Love You and will miss you!
Jordan, Brenda & Jimmy
P.S. We are so glad Jordan had this FANTASTIC day today and we are hoping this will get us through the next 2 months.

Hi Jordan!! Right now you are in a car - you probably are wondering where you are going - or maybe someone told you! Either way, you'll like where you're going! You are going to have to tell us all about your trip to New Hampshire! I'm sure you can't wait to ride - keep up the good work and you'll soon be!
You do realize that you are going to have to tell Ida, Sarah, and I every part of your trip! We were so excited when we heard you got to finally go see your new horse! I'm sure this trip made your day, month, and year! Being able to see your horse again for the first time in a few months is so awesome, terrific, and fabUlous!!

Hi Jordan Bea!!
Hello Jordan Bea. It's Alyssa. I'm just checking in on you!! It's ssoo GREAT to hear how well you are doing!! I'm ssoo incredebly, absolutely, terrifically, positivley PROUD of you!! We have ssooo much FAITH in you. Thinking back, we had a lot of good times didn't we. We would always play house, movie theater and American Girl dolls. Do you remember Michelle. She was wierd. I can still remember when she chased Connor and McGyver around the building to give them a good-bye kiss? And also the time when Spencer shot your headband out of the Birchwood van window going to Dundee. Then I wrote a story about it. That was pretty funny!!! I will ALWAYS remember when we were at Ashleigh's birthday party and we stole Dan's boxers and kept on throwing M&Ms at them. Then you pretending to freak out at Spring. You kept on telling her to be quiet, but when someone else made a noise, you wouldn't care. I remember when Sally and I gave you cheese for your birthday. Cheese was your favorite. That night we had tacos for dinner and you would just eat the cheese out of the bowl. And before I forget, I saw John at one of his basketball games. He doesn't know me, so I didn't say "hi." He probably would have looked at me funny. I won't be able to write for a few days. I'm going up to Litchfield this weekend with my grandparents. I'll see you soon though. I BELIEVE in you Jordan Bea!!! We have sssoo much FAITH in you. Stay STRONG and be HEALTHY. I LOVE you and MISS you so, so, so, so, so, much. Have a very merry CHRISTMAS!!! Let's see that SMILE Jordan Bea!!! I LOVE you and MISS you ssoo incredbly much!!!
Lots of LOVE from here to there 100,000,000 times,

Hi Jordan! How's it going? It is so cold today! Winter is pretty much here I would say! Are you enjoying the snow still? It looks so nice!
I hope you are holding up well in the hospital. It's a little disappointing that you won't be home for good for a while yet, but you are still doing so wonderful! Think of that, wouldn't you rather come home when you are absolutely 100%? And I don't think that will be too long either! You are amazing Jordan, one of the strongest people I know! Just keep faith and believe in yourself and everything you do and you will really be home before you know it! I believe in you with all my heart!
Lots and lots and lots of love always,
Maggie :-)

I just came back from a field trip, we went to Auburn to see the play "Christmas Carol", and I am supposed to be in a study hall right now, but I am talking to you. After the play we went to McDonalds I guess it was good because we got to miss out on all our classes, but it was kinda dry. I am glad to hear your improvements!...stay strong and believe!!

(This) SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8TH
If everything goes right we will NOT be at the hospital this coming Saturday. We are taking Jordan on a field trip. I cannot show Jordan this post and we want to surprise her with a trip down to New Hampshire to "FINALLY" meet her horse. We have been trying to do this for a while but we were worried about how long the trip will be for her. We will try to get her to sleep on the way down and the way back and this way she still has Sunday to rest up and relax. One of the things that is making her sad is not being able to see the horses and to touch and feel them. We hope this will be a positive move to help her progress. So keep the surprise for us and I will let you all know how the trip goes!!!!
Happy Snow!! Love: Brenda, Jimmy & Jordan
p.s. Jordan told the nurses yesterday that I was taking her home (yesterday) to take her snowmobiling!?! She is quite the little story teller these days !!!!!!!!!!!!!

snowdaze !!!
Hello there,,
It has been a while, (i misplaced the password,)
We are all so pleased to read about your progress,
you are making GREAT gains !
The one thing we want to say
over and over is be patient,,
healing takes time,,
it seems (sometimes) to be going so slow,,
then,
when you look back,, it has really gone by so fast !!
I think it wonderful that you were all able to
be HOME for the Holiday !!
Such a big step, and such a good feeling,,
Our first holiday at home was Thanksgiving,,(2006)
and we really felt like giving thanks.
A year from now,, you will be doing what we are..
Each birthday , or holiday, we think,
"a year ago we were home for the first time"
"a year ago Sadie was learning to eat again"
"a year ago we went outside for the first time"
Trust this,,, it really does only get better.
We send our prayers and good wishes
to all of you,
We are all so lucky,,
Keep up the good work Jordan,
( there must be stalls waiting to be mucked,,,)
greta,sadie & lacey

Let it snow!!!
Hello Jordan! I know I just posted yesterday, but I just had to write about the snow! Isn't it "snow" beautiful?! Ha ha, that was really lame! Whatever. It was so nice to wake up this morning and see everything all white wasn't it? I know that's how I felt! Not to mention how happy I was about the snow day! No school! Woo hoo! I love the snow. It makes it really seem like December/Christmastime now, don't you agree?
I'm sorry to hear that you won't be home for good for Christmas, but don't get down. Look on the bright side, the only reason you are staying in the hospital is because you are doing so well! If you keep up with the rate of progress you are making now maybe you'll be out even sooner! Just keep your heart in everything you do and stay strong! Everyone believes in you Jordan and we'll be by your side no matter what happens! I know that you are going to be fine! You have come farther than anyone ever expected over these past few months and shown us all that miracles happen! That's you! So keep that smile on your face always and know that you have everyone by your side supporting you! We love you Jordan! BELIEVE!!!
Lots of love always,
Maggie
P.S. Stewie was soooo happy about the snow! Now he doesn't have to stay in the freezer any more!! Ha ha ha! Pete and Stewie both send their love. They miss you too!!! ;-)

HAPPY DECEMBER !
Wow I cant believe that December is here. I hope you all are taking it easy today with all of this snow. Jordan and I are watching the snow fall out her window right now. When we came here it was still SUMMER!! Jordan is working really hard in therapy every day now. They have increased her schedule to all day so she is very tired at night now. She went home for the day on Thanksgiving and we kept it really low key for Jordan. She has won the hearts of many in this hospital nurses, doctors and staff. Every time we walk around or I take her off this floor many people know her and say Hi to her. Jordan is still talking in a whisper voice. She still cannot coordinate her vocal cords to work. She still does not have use of her left arm. She had more Botox injections in her left leg. It seemed to help as she is starting to lift it some more. She has used a walker with wheels and has taken a couple of steps with it. She mostly uses her wheelchair.
We have let Jordan know that in last Tuesdays "TEAM" meeting for Jordan it was decided that Jordan would NOT come home for good at Christmas. She can come home for a day visit but will remain in the Hospital for another couple of months. It is not because she is not progressing ~ it is because she is progressing so well and continues to progress every day and we would like to continue this so she can get the aggressive therapy she needs right now. It makes us sad because we want Jordan home but we also want what is BEST for Jordans rehabilitation.
Jordan is loving the visits from all of her friends!! She needs to know her friends are still there for her. Her disabilities are going to affect her more and more as times goes by and she will be more frustrated about what she cannot do (like especially her left arm). She gets embarassed about how she looks to others. You have all treated her like herself and made her very happy.
Keep the visits coming!
We have so much to be thankful for and we feel very blessed.
Thank you all for your caring love and support.
We wish you the happiest Holidays ever!!
May God Bless You All!

Good Morning Jordan!!
Hey There, I haven't written in a long time, but I have been staying up on your progress via this site and Desi. WOW!! You are doin' super. So your horse is a dirty fluffy POM POM. She is sooooo hairy!! I can't wait for it to snow so they can roll in it and get clean. We'll try to get some pics for ya. She'll be ready for ya whenever you are. And I know people with big horses for Shawn to ride! Don't worry, he won't get out of it. LOL. Keep up the great work and I'll keep prayin' and supporting you all. You are in my thoughts everyday!! Lots of love,-Doris
